Kanzah Mahar
Founder
My name is Kanzah. Almahriyyah grew out of two things that have shaped most of my life: my deen and my love for understanding the human heart.
My background is in psychology, which I studied at university before training in counseling. Alongside that, I have spent years as a student of the Islamic sciences. I am an Alimiyyah graduate of Burooj Institute, and I am currently in the advanced years of study there, still very much a student and happy to remain one. Some of what I have learned became a book, HeartCare, where I explored the illnesses of the heart through the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the words of the salaf.
These days my work takes a few shapes. I counsel women, and I lead an ongoing study of Kitab al-Tawhid. Different rooms, same intention: to help people come closer to Allah with a little more clarity and a little more ease.
I should be honest that Almahriyyah was never my idea. For a long time I had no interest in building anything public. It was Khizra who saw something worth sharing and gently pushed me toward it, and much of what has come out of this space since, including HeartCare, carries her fingerprint. I am grateful she believed in it before I did.
If you have found your way here, I am glad. Take your time, and know that you are welcome.
